Training/Education

AMPATH's mission is to develop leaders in healthcare for the United States and Africa, foster the values of the medical profession and promote health for the human family through an academic model of collaboration and education. Thousands of Kenyans and North Americans have participated in the academic medical exchange between Moi University and the members of the AMPATH Consortium. 

It is the goal of AMPATH's education and training program to engage highly motivated students and residents from diverse specialties in better understanding the health disparities that exist throughout the world.  Valuable mentor relationships will be fostered between faculty and residents that inspire long-term commitment to global health issues. Many academic institutions are currently developing formal programs in global health, but few can offer the depth of experience and commitment that AMPATH provides.
