Your gift saves lives
World AIDS Day (December 1) and Giving Tuesday (December 2) remind us that progress in the fight against HIV cannot stop now. With global funding cuts threatening life-saving treatment, AMPATH is working to strengthen local health systems, train care providers and ensure continued access to essential medicines for more than 127,000 people in Kenya. Your support today helps sustain this vital work and protect decades of progress in HIV care and beyond.
Give before December 31, and your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000, doubling your impact for patients and communities who depend on AMPATH.
Gifts to AMPATH are tax-deductible through the Indiana University Foundation (Tax ID: 35-6018940).
Your gift* provides lifesaving care and your impact is DOUBLED until December 31.
$1 = $2
$25 = $50
$100 = $200
*Gifts to AMPATH Kenya Operating Fund will be matched up to $250,000 by generous donors.
Hope in a Time of Uncertainty
Global health is in a time of rapid change and uncertainty. Funding priorities are shifting. For AMPATH, that means new challenges but also new opportunities. With the end of USAID on July 1, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and other foreign aid funding has transitioned to the U.S. State Department. We anticipate that funding for HIV care and treatment programs funded through PEPFAR will continue through March 2026 with further reductions in funding anticipated after March. PEPFAR funding has ended for programs focused on orphans and vulnerable children without HIV, family planning and HIV prevention programs including those focused on adolescent girls and young women. AMPATH leaders are working with county and national leaders to design and implement solutions that ensure continued access to care. This includes developing models that integrate HIV care into Government of Kenya-supported primary care and chronic disease care structures. Our mission is strong because it’s built on partnership with the public health system, not apart from it.
When a funding pause threatened HIV care for 127,000 patients earlier this year, AMPATH donors jumped in to make sure care never stopped. Donors recently helped 5,000+ girls to complete a life-changing HIV prevention and empowerment curriculum. By giving to the AMPATH, you are part of a group of problem-solving donors committed to helping people who need it most.
