AMPATH CONSORTIUM SCHOLARSHIPS & EXPERIENCES FOR MOI STUDENTS

AMPATH CONSORTIUM SCHOLARSHIPS & EXPERIENCES FOR MOI STUDENTS

The AMPATH Consortium makes it possible for selected Moi University medical students, dental students and registrars (residents) to study in the U.S. or Canada for six to eight weeks every year. The students and registrars gain not only medical education, but also an understanding of the American healthcare system and how to apply that knowledge to become medical leaders in Kenya.

MEDICAL EXPERIENCES FOR NORTH AMERICAN CONSORTIUM STUDENTS

MEDICAL EXPERIENCES FOR NORTH AMERICAN CONSORTIUM STUDENTS

North American students and residents belonging to Consortium institutions are selected each year to train at Moi University in Kenya for two-month rotations of hands-on training and life-changing experience in hospitals and urban and rural clinical sites. While in Kenya, they live at IU House and become part of the Eldoret community, both in their contribution and in a perspective they can bring back home.

MWANGAZA KENYAN MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MOI STUDENTS

MWANGAZA KENYAN MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MOI STUDENTS

What began as a program for 12 Kenyan scholars with overwhelming financial need now supports almost 30% of Moi University medical students. Since 2000, the Mwangaza Scholarship Program has provided many bright, underprivileged students with the support they need to become practicing physicians in their home country, growing a more sustainable healthcare future for all Kenyans.

SLEMENDA SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INDIANA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

SLEMENDA SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INDIANA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Each year, two to three second-year IU medical students are invited to travel to Eldoret, Kenya for eight to 10 weeks of hands-on training. The students learn about every facet of AMPATH’s programs, live and work alongside Kenyan medical students from Moi University, train in Moi medical facilities, and participate in public health activities in the Kenyan community.
