RESPONDING TO A CRISIS. THEN BUILDING A FUTURE.

Some of our first and most vital tasks in Kenya were in response to the HIV & AIDS pandemic. But right from the beginning, we knew the true needs of the community were so much larger, and expanded our efforts to serve not just patients, but an entire population.

Today, AMPATH Kenya provides not only treatment and care, but also programs that help patients take hold of their economic independence and their futures. And AMPATH's training, technology, and research go beyond Kenya to serve the whole world.

HANDS-ON TRAINING FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS — FROM COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS TO DOCTORS.

It’s not enough to provide care for the people who need it today; we have to plan for tomorrow. That’s why we’re constantly sharing expertise and training the new leaders in Kenyan healthcare. Our medical exchange program gives Kenyan and North American medical students and residents an experience unlike any other. And our outreach extends to provide training to non-physicians, social workers, counselors, and volunteers, who play an important role in holistic, sustainable care.
